Pikes Peak Prepared Mobile App Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions

Last updated: July, 2024

Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management (“PPROEM”, “us", "we", or "our") provides the Pikes Peak Prepared application (the "app"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information we receive from users of the app.

By using the app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

The app is provided by third-party developer, Quick Series Publishing, whose additional privacy policy details are specified in the separate policy posted at https://quickseries.com/legal-policies/en/quickconnect/privacy-policy

Information Collection and Use

The Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management will communicate via email or SMS text messaging for the sole purpose of sending citizens within the region information related to non-emergency preparedness tips and announcements through the app.

We do not, as a matter of course, gather any personally identifiable information while users are logged into the app, unless users choose to provide such information. While using the app, information that is provided voluntarily by the user may be collected by PPROEM that can be used to contact or identify the user. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to name, email address, and any other personal information provided by the user. Such information is stored in a secure environment and will only be used by PPROEM in furtherance of its duties and/or obligations for governmental purposes.

Information entered into features of the app, such as the personal preparedness plan and communications contact list features, are not collected or stored by PPROEM.

Personal Information Collected and Its Uses, and Exceptions

The following is an exhaustive list of Personal Information collected from you when you use Services and what we use it for. You acknowledge that you are submitting this Personal Information with your informed consent.

Location Information: When a user opts in to background location tracking by the app, only the last known location is saved (replaces the previous location). Static locations may also be configured by subscribing to one or many U.S. ZIP code regions. This may also be an alternative to background location tracking for those less comfortable with constantly sharing their location.

The Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management values your privacy and will never share or sell your information.

Communications

We may use your Personal Information to contact you at your request with newsletters or promotional materials and other information that you choose to provide. You may opt in to receive mobile device notifications via the app at your request.

Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of July, 2023 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.

We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the app after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.
